Story behind
College Move Crew was created from our freshmen move-in day at FSU in 2024. As a family, we lived the full chaos—racing against the one-hour move-in clock. By the time we hauled everything up in the heat, we were already hot, tired, and miserable before we even started settling into the dorm.
We realized most students only have one day with their parents before months apart, and it deserves to be about connection and excitement, not exhaustion. That's why we created a service to handle heavy lifting and logistics from the very beginning, so other families can focus on the memories, the campus tour and that exciting first step into college life.
“We move. You settle.”
What drives us
College Move Crew specializes in Dorm Move-Ins. We help students and families beat the heat and the stress of moving day so they can focus on the memories that matter.
Our vision is to transform move-in day from a stressful ordeal to a meaningful, memorable experience. Families can focus on the excitement of college, not the heat and chaos. Plus, we're creating flexible, well-paying jobs for students to earn money right before the semester.
Tips & tricks
A few simple plans can make arrival, unloading, and settling in feel far less hectic.
Confirm your school's move-in time, check-in instructions, and parking unloading zones before the day begins. Keep IDs, confirmation details, keys, and your phone charger together in one easy-to-reach bag.
Follow the arrival route and unloading zone instructions your university provides. Keep lanes clear, and move vehicle when requested so the next family can get started. A quick photo of the parking location can save a lot of searching later.
Start with the bed, bathroom basics, and the items needed for the first night. Take a few room-condition photos before unpacking everything, then work through the rest one zone at a time. You do not need to make the whole room perfect before taking a break.
Wear comfortable clothing, bring snacks, and explore the campus.
Family feedback
A little help with move-in can make more space for the moments a family will remember.
“By the time we got to the dorm, we could focus on helping our daughter settle in instead of hauling bins up the stairs. That changed the whole day.”
“The crew was organized, friendly, and fast. We had time for lunch and a campus walk before we said goodbye.”
“This should be offered at every university. It took so much pressure off our new student and ourselves. The team made the whole process feel effortless.”
